What we record when you use this site, and why.

In short

You can read every page on Pokies Online AUS without an account, and our pages set no cookies of their own. We count visits in two ways: Cloudflare Web Analytics gives us aggregated figures, and our own tracking server records each page view and each click on a casino button, so that we can count our traffic and be paid the affiliate commissions that fund the site. We do not sell any of this information.

Cloudflare Web Analytics

The site is delivered through Cloudflare, and we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It shows us totals such as page views, the most-read pages, referring sites, countries and device types. It does not use cookies, and it gives us no way to identify or follow an individual reader. Cloudflare’s own privacy policy covers how it handles the requests that pass through its network.

Visit and click measurement

We also run our own tracking server, which uses the Keitaro tracking software. It receives two kinds of event:

  • A page view. When a page loads, your browser sends a short request to an address on our own domain, /go/_hit, naming the page you are reading and the page that referred you, if your browser shares it.
  • A click on a casino button. Casino buttons point to addresses on our domain that start with /go/. When you click one, our server records the click before sending you on to the casino or its affiliate network. The record notes the casino, the page the button was on and where on the page it sat.

With each event, the tracking server receives your IP address, your browser’s user agent (a short description of the browser and device), your preferred language, the page and the page that referred you. From the IP address it also works out an approximate location, such as the country.

We use this to count visits and clicks, to separate people from automated traffic, and to match clicks with the commissions casinos pay us, as our affiliate disclosure explains. The measurement never changes what you see: every reader gets the same pages, whatever the tracking server answers.

Cookies

Our pages set no cookies, and the page-view count sets none either. Once you follow a casino button, you leave our site. The tracking address the button passes through, the casino’s own site and its affiliate programme may set cookies of their own, including cookies that record that you arrived from us. Their privacy policies apply from that point.

Server logs

The server that hosts the site keeps standard access logs: the IP address, the time, the address requested, the referring page and the browser’s user agent. We use these logs to keep the site running and secure and to find the cause of errors.

Email

If you email us, we have your email address and whatever you choose to include, and we use them to reply. Our contact page lists the mailbox for each kind of question.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell or rent personal information.
  • We load no advertising, social-media or other third-party scripts on our pages apart from Cloudflare Web Analytics.
  • We do not ask for your name, date of birth or payment details, and we do not open casino accounts on your behalf.

Readers in Australia

The site is written for readers in Australia. In Australia, the Privacy Act 1988 and its Australian Privacy Principles describe how organisations covered by the Act should handle personal information, including a person’s right to ask for access to information held about them and to have it corrected.

If you would like to know what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, write to hello@pokiesonlineaus.com. Please include the IP address you used and roughly when you visited, because our records are organised by those details rather than by name.
